Thornbury & District Stroke Support Group

From September to April the Art group meet on the alternate Thursdays fortnightly in the Jubilee Hall. Many of our Stroke Members have never painted before but produce lovely paintings and annually design Christmas cards which are reproduced for sale for the benefit of the Group and for the Stroke Unit at Southmead Hospital.

The 2009 exhibition of art at the Wyevale Garden Centre was another great success.

This year the Thornbury Art Club kept a check on the number of visitors counting over 1300 most of whom stopped to view our display. Since the show several people have remarked on the standard of our paintings and the progress of our members.

A very big thank you to our tutors, this year most art members exhibited two pictures each. Well done and thank you all.
